Acceptable Use Policy
In effect from 2026-08-30.
This document is published in English. The English text is the binding version. If you would like it explained in Swedish, write to info@mobuhost.com and we will go through it with you.
Det här dokumentet finns bara på engelska, och den engelska texten är den som gäller. Vill du ha det förklarat på svenska, mejla info@mobuhost.com.
This policy forms part of the mobuhost Terms of Service. It exists for one practical reason: every customer shares one server and one IP address, so what one account does affects everyone else, including the reputation of the mail server.
Content that is not allowed
- Anything unlawful under Swedish or EU law.
- Material that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark or other rights.
- Phishing pages, fake login screens, or sites impersonating a real business or person.
- Malware, exploit kits, or files staged for use in an attack.
- Child sexual abuse material. Accounts are terminated immediately and reported, with no notice and no refund.
- Content inciting violence or hatred against a group.
Conduct that is not allowed
- Spam. No unsolicited bulk email of any kind, from our server or advertising a site hosted here. This is the fastest way to get the shared IP address blacklisted and break email for every other customer.
- Sending mail with forged headers or a forged sender address.
- Harvesting addresses, or buying lists and mailing them.
- Attacking, scanning or attempting to gain unauthorised access to any system, whether ours or someone else's.
- Running open proxies, open relays, or public file dumps.
Resource use
Shared hosting means shared CPU, memory and disk. The following are not allowed because they degrade the server for everyone:
- Cryptocurrency mining of any kind.
- Long-running background processes not connected to serving your website.
- Using the account primarily as file storage or as a backup target rather than as a website.
- Deliberately consuming disproportionate CPU, memory or I/O.
If something you run is causing a problem we will contact you and try to find a fix, for example moving to a larger plan. We would rather solve it than terminate an account.
Email specifics
Mailboxes are for normal business correspondence. Bulk marketing mail should go through a dedicated provider built for it, both because of the sending limits here and because your deliverability will be better.
Hourly sending limits apply per account and exist to contain the damage when a mailbox password is stolen, which is by far the most common cause of an account suddenly sending spam.
Security expectations
Keep WordPress, plugins, themes and any other software you install up to date. The great majority of compromised shared-hosting sites are compromised through an outdated plugin, not through the server.
If we detect that your site has been compromised we may suspend it to protect the rest of the server, and we will tell you what we found.
Reporting a problem
Email info@mobuhost.com with the URL or the message concerned and enough detail for us to identify it. We investigate reports of illegal content, phishing and spam as a priority.
What happens when this policy is breached
Depending on severity we may ask you to fix it, suspend the account, or terminate it. For anything actively harmful, such as a live phishing page, an ongoing attack or a spam run, we will suspend first and explain immediately afterwards, because the alternative is letting the damage continue.
Termination for breach does not entitle you to a refund.
