Help and guides

Short answers to the things customers ask us most, written by the people who run the servers.

Can't find it here? Write to info@mobuhost.com. A person reads every message, and a question we get twice usually ends up on this page.

Den här sidan finns än så länge bara på engelska. Mejla info@mobuhost.com så hjälper vi dig på svenska.

Where to log in

Every customer uses the same two addresses, so bookmark them once:

When your hosting is set up, your password arrives in a separate message from the login details. That is deliberate: one intercepted email should never be enough to get into your account.

Email on your phone or computer

Most mail apps only need two things: your full email address and its password. Add a new account, type those in, and the app usually finds the rest on its own.

If the app asks for server settings, use these, replacing yourdomain with your own domain name:

Incoming (IMAP)Outgoing (SMTP)
Servermail.yourdomainmail.yourdomain
Port993465
EncryptionSSL/TLSSSL/TLS
UsernameYour full email address

Choose IMAP rather than POP if the app offers both. IMAP keeps your mail on the server, so your phone, laptop and webmail all show the same inbox.

Add a mailbox

  1. Log in to the control panel.
  2. Open Email Accounts and choose Create.
  3. Type the part before the @, for example hello, and set a strong password.
  4. Save. The mailbox works straight away in webmail and in any mail app.

How many mailboxes you can create depends on your plan. If you hit the limit, write to us and we will tell you honestly whether a bigger plan is worth it.

Take a backup

We do not run automatic backups that we can restore from today, and we would rather tell you here than after something goes wrong. Keep your own copy, especially before a big change such as a WordPress update or a redesign.

  1. Log in to the control panel.
  2. Open Backup.
  3. Choose to download a full account backup, and keep the file somewhere other than your hosting.

Moving your domain elsewhere

A domain we registered for you is yours. If you want to move it to another provider, email us from the address we have on file and ask for the transfer code. We send it without argument, and we do not charge you for leaving.

Your website and email can move too. Everything lives in a standard cPanel account, so the backup above is something any other cPanel host can restore.
